Pricing
AllMyBooks is in its free launch phase, which ends on 31 October 2026. No payments are being taken yet — everything below is free for everyone right now. This page describes how pricing will work once the supporter plan launches. Create your account before that date and you are grandfathered: the full free tier stays free for you forever.
1. Free for every account
Everything you need to catalogue, share, and keep your collection is free — whether or not you ever subscribe, and after any cancellation:
- Adding books — ISBN scanning, cover photos, manual and antique/no-ISBN entry
- Importing an existing catalogue (Readerware, Goodreads, LibraryThing, StoryGraph, CLZ Books, any CSV or a MARC file) — and exporting it back out, always
- Search across everything you own, including semantic search and in-store "do we already own this?" checks
- Organizing — locations, shelves, tags, and duplicate detection
- Shared access — one co-owned library for everyone who keeps it
- Lending and loan reminders
- No caps on catalogue items and no time limits
“No item caps” means catalogue items: books, copies, want-list entries, loans and patrons are never counted against a limit. Image storage — covers, copy photos and kept shelf photographs — has a fair-use ceiling that a catalogue with a photo per copy never approaches; if an account ever came near it, we would get in touch before anything was limited.
2. Joined during the launch phase? Everything stays free
Accounts created during our free launch phase are grandfathered: everything that was free during the launch trial — the free core above and the collector toolkit below — stays free for those accounts forever. That’s a permanent commitment, not a promotion: it holds whether or not you ever subscribe, and it survives any future pricing change.
Grandfathering covers everything that was free during the launch phase; features we build after the supporter plan launches may be part of the collector toolkit for every account, launch-phase accounts included.
3. The supporter plan
The supporter plan ($3.99/month, $29.99/year, or a one-time $79.99 lifetime purchase) is how AllMyBooks keeps running — we’re a small indie team. For accounts created after the launch phase, it unlocks the collector toolkit:
- Per-copy condition photos and inscription notes
- Edition & printing identification (points of issue, printing numbers)
- Value tracking and the estate handover report
- Custom fields
- Public showcases and tiny-library mode with patron checkout
- Shelf & book label printing
- Series gap detection and reading-log statistics
Every supporter also gets a supporter badge and early access to new features. The plan never touches the free core: cataloguing, search, shared access, lending, and export stay free for every account, with no item caps — and a lapsed or cancelled subscription never locks you out of anything you added. You can subscribe from your Profile page under “Support AllMyBooks”.
Running a church, classroom or community shelf? The supporter plan is per user account. Tiny-library mode, the public catalogue and patron checkout are Library settings an Admin turns on, so a church, classroom or community shelf pays for one Admin account — volunteers, other members and patrons cost nothing.
4. Cancelling
You can cancel a monthly or annual subscription at any time from your Profile page (“Support AllMyBooks” → “Manage billing”), which opens our payment provider’s self-service billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; you keep supporter perks until then, and you are not charged again. Your library and all of your data are unaffected.
5. Refunds
- Monthly subscriptions are not refunded pro rata — cancel anytime and the plan simply ends at the close of the current month.
- Annual subscriptions and lifetime purchases can be refunded in full within 14 days of the charge, no questions asked — contact us and we’ll process it through our payment provider.
- Duplicate or mistaken charges are always refunded — contact us with the approximate date of the charge.
6. How to reach us
For refunds or any billing question, use our contact form and mention the email address on your account. We aim to respond within two business days; approved refunds are returned to your original payment method by our payment provider, typically within 5–10 business days.
