Pricing & Supporting AllMyBooks

What’s free (everything you need), and how the supporter plan works.

Is AllMyBooks free?

Yes — AllMyBooks is currently in a free launch trial that ends on 31 October 2026. Everything is included during the trial: adding and scanning books, search, sharing a Library, lending, book clubs, importing, and exporting, with no item caps. Create your account before that date and you are grandfathered: the full free tier stays free for you forever, even after paid plans arrive.

Our standing guarantees, trial or no trial: the core (cataloguing, search, sharing a Library, lending, import) stays free for every account, exporting your catalogue stays free, there are no item caps, a lapsed or never-subscribed account is never locked out of its library — and launch-phase accounts keep the full free tier forever. Grandfathering covers everything that was free during the launch phase; features we build after the supporter plan launches may be part of the collector toolkit for every account, launch-phase accounts included. “No item caps” means catalogue items: books, copies, want-list entries, loans and patrons are never counted against a limit. Image storage — covers, copy photos and kept shelf photographs — has a fair-use ceiling that a catalogue with a photo per copy never approaches; if an account ever came near it, we would get in touch before anything was limited.

What happens after the launch trial

After the launch trial, the supporter plan — $3.99/month, $29.99/year, or a one-time $79.99 lifetime option — will keep our small indie team running. For accounts created after the launch phase it will unlock collector-depth features; accounts created during the launch phase are grandfathered and keep everything free. Nothing you use today gets locked away from an existing account, and we’ll notify every account well before anything changes.

The site is also supported by affiliate links: when you buy a book through the "Buy on Amazon" (or AbeBooks/Bookshop.org) links on a book page, the site earns a small commission at no extra cost to you.

Running a church, classroom or community shelf?

The supporter plan is per user account. Tiny-library mode, the public catalogue and patron checkout are Library settings an Admin turns on, so a church, classroom or community shelf pays for one Admin account — volunteers, other members and patrons cost nothing.
