Pick a next read with a book club

A book club is a small group — you plus a few friends — who choose a shared next read from the books you already own between you. Each member keeps their own library; the club just pools what you collectively own so you can pick from it and lend the winning copy to whoever’s reading it next. Find clubs under My Library → Library tools → Books → Book clubs, or go to /clubs.

  1. Create a club and give it a name; you become its owner.
  2. Add members by email — use the address they signed up with. Books in the Libraries they are an Admin or Member of join the club’s candidate pool; a Library they are only a Guest in never does.
  3. Start a round, then nominate books from what the club owns and cast one vote each.
  4. The owner closes the round; the book with the most votes becomes the current pick (earliest nomination breaks a tie).
  5. On the pick, whoever holds a copy can lend it to another member using the same lending flow above.

Book clubs are personal and opt-in — separate from your Library. Only a club’s members can see or act on it, and adding a member requires them to already have an account. For privacy, the club never shows members’ email addresses, and adding someone looks the same whether or not the address has an account — check the member list to see who joined. Only the club owner can add or remove members, open a round, or close it.
