Description
Lake Whistler, a TV writer in her late 30s with a messy and lonely life, finds herself face-to-face with Ohio businessman HB Taylor, her grandfather. The catch is that he's been dead for 31 years. She obviously doubts his authenticity, suspecting a scam or absurd joke, but she cannot find a flaw in his credibility. They spend an eventful week together in which she has a brief romance with the movie star Burt Reynolds and HB bonds with the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong. But the major event is HB's interview on a network morning TV show in which he attempts to reveal many of the secrets of death. The result is tumultuous(The HB Taylor character is based on the author's real-life grandfather, who so far has not come back to life.)
